Fibonacci number

Discover the patterns of Fibonacci numbers in the golden spiral.

Φ, the Greek symbol for Phi, is referred to as the golden section. The geometric ratio of 0.618:1 or 1:1.618, is known as the golden mean. This golden ratio is derived from the Fibonacci number sequence in which each number is the sum the two preceding numbers.

  1. The Phi ratio is obtained by (1 +  5 ) / 2.
  2. The Fibonacci sequence is named after the Italian mathematician, Leonardo Fibonacci.
  3. Animal and plant populations grew in regular patterns, closely resembling to this sequence.
  4. The Fibonacci numbers are used as measurements for font sizes, text block placements and layouts because of their harmonious proportions.
